Louisville Leopard Percussionists

You’ve seen the popular Led Zeppelin medley video — these young members of the percussion ensemble join us on Drum Talk TV, along with the program’s director Diane Downs and assistant director Kelsey Lee.

Watch their story of what the Louisville Leopard Percussionists program is all about, how they came up with the Led Zeppelin medley played on mainly mallet instruments, as well as drums and other percussion.

Most of the 50 kids in the program are between ages 7 and 12 years old–they tell you how they learned the music and well as excerpts of a few other pieces, including “Crazy Train” by Ozzy Osbourne. You will also learn about their Steel Drum Band and see a clip! 20 years ago, Assistant Director Kelsey Lee came to the program as a child, as did Hannah Ford.

Enjoy the interview; learn more about this wonderful organization and hear directly from some of the kids involved about their own personal experiences on why this is a great example for youth (and adults) all over the world to be involved in music programs! (Right?!)
